Anna is the founder and director of the Chinese Classical Art Centre, with over 20 years of experience playing the guzheng. She is a certified guzheng teacher accredited by the Central Conservatory of Music in China and the China Human Resource of Culture and Tourism, and a member of the China Association for Promoting Children's Culture and Art. Since 2012, Anna has been actively performing and promoting Chinese classical music in Australia. She has played at major cultural events such as the National Multicultural Festival, Floriade, and National Library of Australia exhibitions. As the director of the ANU Chinese Classical Music Ensemble in 2024 and a long-time ensemble member, she has organised and participated in numerous performances, collaborating with musicians from various cultural backgrounds to bring traditional Chinese music to wider audiences. Anna teaches guzheng to students of all ages and skill levels, specialising in classical masterpieces like High Mountain and Running River, Three Variations of Plum Blossom, and Fisherman’s Song, as well as modern pop arrangements. She believes joyful learning is the key to mastering music, creating an engaging and inspiring environment where students develop both technical skills and a deep appreciation for Chinese classical music.

Zoey has been playing the guzheng for over 15 years and specialises in advanced, powerful pieces such as Battling the Typhoon, The General's Command, Red Sun on Jinggang Mountain, Yi Dance, and The Soil of Qin. She is currently a guzheng player in the Australian National University Chinese Classical Music Ensemble. Known for her friendly and approachable teaching style, Zoey excels at analysing complex pieces and helping students refine their techniques. Passionate about guzheng education, she is dedicated to guiding students to the next level in their musical journey.

Olive began learning the pipa at the age of six and later specialised in music performance with a focus on the pipa during her undergraduate studies. Throughout her university years, she actively participated in New Year's concerts, art programs, and chamber music performances, gaining extensive stage experience. During her musical journey, Olive received numerous awards, including second prize in the 2019 Qilu Instrumental Music Competition (Youth Pipa Category), a gold award in the ensemble category of the 2019 Singapore International Pipa Art Festival, and a bronze award in the solo category. In 2020, she won first prize in the ensemble category at the Shandong Provincial University Student Art Exhibition and second prize in the Sixth Qingdao Traditional Instrumental Music Competition. Her academic excellence was recognised through multiple scholarships. With extensive performance experience, Olive excels in teaching various musical styles and is dedicated to helping students explore the beauty of the pipa.

Catherine has been playing the pipa for over ten years and achieved the highest-level award in pipa performance at the age of 11. With a passion for traditional Chinese music and music education, she is dedicated to providing high-quality pipa lessons for both children and adults, helping them develop their skills and appreciation for the instrument.

Sen Chang is an experienced erhu performer and educator with 9 years of playing experience. He holds a Level 10 Erhu Certificate from the China Nationalities Orchestra Society and is skilled in solo pieces such as Spring Colors of Southern China, The Great Wall Capriccio, and Galloping Warhorses. With extensive experience in Chinese folk orchestras, Sen has participated in cultural exchange programs, including the China-Russia Youth Cultural Exchange. He is currently an erhu player in the Australian National University Chinese Classical Music Ensemble, contributing to performances that showcase the richness of Chinese traditional music. Sen emphasises strong foundational training and the expressive storytelling within erhu music. Passionate about sharing erhu culture, he enjoys teaching both classical and contemporary erhu pieces, helping students develop both technical skills and a deeper appreciation for Chinese music.

Bo is skilled in meticulous painting (gongbi dancai, gongbi zhongcai, xiaoxieyi; flowers, birds, fish, insects, and figures), calligraphy (lishu, kaishu, xingkai), seal engraving, and guzheng. She began learning calligraphy and seal engraving at the age of four under the guidance of Tianjin calligrapher Zuo Ning and studied meticulous painting with Yang Xiuying, a member of the China Artists Association. For over ten years, she trained in guzheng under Tianjin guzheng performer Li Songming. During her undergraduate studies, Bo served as the president of the university's Hanmo Calligraphy Association for three years. She is actively engaged in teaching and has accumulated significant experience, excelling in guiding beginners and inspiring their enthusiasm for learning. Through the study of Chinese traditional culture, she aims to enhance artistic aesthetic appreciation and promote the heritage of outstanding Chinese traditions.

Zhao (Lao Mo) is the deputy secretary of Beijing Li Keran Academy of Painting, the leader of the Li Keran Academy of Painting Youth Academy, and the director of the China Artists Association Heshan Painting Association. He studies guqin under the renowned guqin master Wang Peng (Juntianfang). Integrating his deep understanding of ancient Chinese philosophy into his guqin practice, Zhao seeks a state of simplicity and tranquility, using his artistic expression as a path to inner peace.

Hanyun Wang has studied the guqin for many years. She trained under Ziyi Zhou, the final disciple of the late Youren Lin, a renowned master of the Guangling School of guqin performance. She is a certified guqin teacher of the Central Conservatory of Music. Wang’s playing embodies the Guangling School’s signature elegance and depth while incorporating her own interpretations and emotional resonance. Her artistic philosophy centres on conveying spirit through artistic charm, emphasising the expressive power of subtlety and nuance. The guqin, a treasured symbol of Chinese traditional culture, is more than just an instrument—it is a path to inner cultivation and harmony. A single melody can evoke profound serenity: the quieter the heart, the gentler the world reveals itself.

Zheng Lin, also known as Linzer, studied under Professor Ren Xuan and is a second-generation disciple of Xie Daoxiu, a master of the Lingnan School of guqin. He carries forward the school’s signature style—vigorous, bright, and crisp. Beyond guqin, Linzer has trained in choral singing since the age of three, integrating vocal techniques with guqin performance. Passionate about qin songs (ancient guqin-accompanied singing), he has taught The Art of Guqin and Qin Songs as part of a key provincial-level education initiative. He has also served as a resident conductor and composer for ensembles, specialising in musical interpretation, guqin arrangement, and notation adaptation. Currently, he performs as a guqin player and baritone singer in The Melodic Odyssey of Oceanids ensemble. Linzer emphasises traditional solo repertoire training while incorporating qin songs to cultivate aesthetic appreciation. As an essential part of Chinese folk traditions, qin songs offer a window into history and culture. Through his teaching, Linzer delves into the historical and societal contexts behind each piece, guiding students on a comprehensive journey into Chinese classical arts.

Jiayan Chen has been playing the dizi since 2012 and achieved the highest-level certification (Grade 10) from the Zhejiang Musicians Association in 2015. He was awarded bronze and gold prizes in a prestigious Chinese traditional music competition for children and teenagers in 2014 and 2015, respectively. His repertoire includes a wide range of classic dizi pieces, showcasing both technical precision and expressive depth. In 2018, he joined his school’s traditional music ensemble, performing for the institution’s 10th-anniversary celebration and participating in a collaborative concert with a German school at Hangzhou Entel Foreign Language School. Driven by a deep passion for Chinese wind instruments, Jiayan began learning the xiao in 2020. His xiao performances extend beyond traditional pieces, incorporating Chinese pop music, adding a modern touch to this ancient instrument.
